Music at Fairmount

The winter and spring seasons give the musicians at Fairmount the opportunity to observe Epiphany and Lent, leading to the great Day of Resurrection on Easter, April 1, 2018. The Crescendo Choir and Bell Choir will each participate at least once monthly in Sunday morning worship, as well as on Easter.

Easter will also bring festive music for brass, organ and choir.

Stay tuned for more developments later in the spring.

Crescendo Choir and Fairmount Youth Present: The BIg Fish

Sunday, February 25th during the 11:00am service

The Big Fish is the story of Jonah and the Whale, uniquely told through a "film-noir" style, like an old-fashioned detective movie. This new musical, written by Grace Hawthrone and music by Ken Medema, is a fresh approach on the Biblical story. Kids and adults alike will find both humor and truth in this creative production.

  • Fairmount Bellchoir

The Fairmount Bellchoir is a group of roughly 14 ringers. We’re always looking for more to join us as we have a full 5 octaves of handbells and 4 octaves of handchimes! We affectionately call ourselves the “Ding-a-Lings” as we like to make beautiful music, but also have fun.  The only prerequisite for joining is the ability to read music and we welcome all to join “our team”.  We currently rehearse Sunday mornings, from 9:00-10:00 am in the Undercroft of the church, and play roughly once a month.  In addition, we are often asked to play during the holidays at venues around the city, such as Severance Hall (pre-Christmas Concert entertainment) and  the Botanical Garden (“Glow”).  For more information, please contact Amy K. Carlson, Handbell Director, at 216.978.7445 or via email, acarlson@key.com.
