If you were to walk up to Fairmount Presbyterian, you’d see a beautiful old building nestled among the trees and homes of historic Fairmount Boulevard. Using its stained glass windows, its steeple, and its architecture as clues, you’d recognize the building as a church, and you might say to yourself, “Now, there's a church with a long history in Cleveland Heights.”
And you’d be right about that. But, were you to think the members of the church must match the building’s old and traditional architecture, their faith is confined to conform within old walls of traditional beliefs, their Christian living limited to worn out definitions and prescriptions, you would be wrong. For when you walk through the doors you would find a community of individuals seeking to understanding God's claim on their lives, today. You would find people that are following Christ down their own path - together - seeking to grow in faith, serve together, and care for all.
During the summer the community gathers at 10 a.m. on Sundays for worship. On the first Sundays of Summer months worship is held outdoors, weather permitting. September through May, the community gathers for worship at 8:30 and 10:00, with a time for intergenerational fellowship after the service.
If you have questions about our community, reach out to a member on the staff. They would love to hear your story, share our community's vision, and talk with you about your faith.
Every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm the four Councils of the church (Administration, Serve, Care, and Faith Formation) gather to do the work of the church. Every council meeting is open to all. Dinner is served at 6:00pm.
