Greater Cleveland Congregations in Action!

Fairmount is excited to be part of the dynamic movement that is Greater Cleveland Congregations (GCC) as they dive into a transformative fall season. GCC is not just making an impact; it’s sparking change across our community.

  • The Battle for Democracy program is in full swing, rallying passionate neighborhood captains to engage with low-propensity voters and amplify their voices.
  • Thanks to GCC’s relentless efforts to reduce youth bindovers, the Ohio Public Defenders Commission is now in investigation mode with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court—a huge step forward in our fight for justice.
  • GCC’s Pretrial Justice Team recently met with Judge John Russo to continue pushing for reforms that ensure fewer individuals in Cuyahoga County are unjustly held on bail.
  • The Healthy Blocks initiative, under the Color of Health program, has been making progress in the Lee-Harvard neighborhood, knocking on over 150 doors to engage more than 70 voters in critical conversations about health equity.
  • GCC’s Youth Organizing Program is actively helping voters create their voting plans.
  • And in a remarkable show of community solidarity, GCC has raised $43,000 to liberate individuals from the crushing weight of medical debt.

Greater Cleveland Congregations is more than an organization—it’s a powerful coalition of people across lines of race, class, religion, and geography, united in action to strengthen and uplift our neighborhoods.  Reach out and discover how you can be part of this impactful movement!
