2021 Advent at FPC

We look forward to seeing many of you in worship as we move through the rhythms of Advent and Christmastide. There is so much to celebrate – vaccinations available for children, increased freedom to gather with family and friends over the holidays, and the momentum in our church to love God and serve our neighbors with joy.

This Advent, may we be comforted by the One who dwells intimately with us. May we expand safety and sanctuary for everyone wandering far from home. May we come home – wherever home is found -to live fully with joy, hope, and courage.

Rewatch our Blue Christmas Worship with Special Music

For those who have experienced loss, the holidays can be a particularly painful time, stirring up grief in acute ways. As a result, churches around the world have adopted the practice of having a “Blue Christmas” service during the Advent season. This service is designed to provide space for prayer, reflection, and remembrance amidst the holiday hustle and bustle. In this pandemic season of life, we know that grief and loss are magnified and nearly universal, and a service like this is needed now more than ever. We hope that this service will be a gift to individuals and communities alike, providing a space of calm, quiet, and healing.

Advent is also a time for giving – sharing your love, providing your talent, and giving what you can.
