  • Sunday, September 30th

    Big Group Sunday

    On the fifth Sunday of the month we step out of the church into the broader community to worship, learn, and serve, on Sunday, September 30th, small groups from Fairmount will plan to worship with various congregations in our community.

    Our objectives for this Sunday include worshiping with others; building connections with churches in our community; and learning more about what God is doing in and through the ministries of local churches. 

    Our Sunday, September 30th schedule is as follows: 

    • 9:00am   Gathering Group A meets in Andersen Hall
    • 9:30am   Gathering Group A dismissal to 10:00am worship at community churches
    • 10:00am  Gathering Group B meets in Andersen Hall
    • 10:30am  Gathering Group B dismissal to 11:00am worship at community churches

    Join us for Big Group Sunday! Fill out your information on this form, then select the congregation you wish to attend on Big Group Sunday, September 30th. 

    On Sunday, October 7th, during our Breaking Bread, Community Meal, we will encourage all to share their experiences from our Big Group Sunday.

    Learn from this inspiring presentation what your options are and how to voice your choices with your love ones and caregivers. 

    Loretta Downs, MA, CSA, is an internationally recognized inspirational speaker, writer, and consultant on the subject of supporting the end of life with wisdom, love, comfort and dignity. Her work is inspired by more than 30 years a companion to the dying and their loved ones. She holds a master's degree in Gerontology. 

    She is Past-President of the Chicago End-of-Life Care Coalition, an Advance Health Care Planning Facilitator, a Certified Senior Advisor, and a Death Doula. She raises Monarch butterflies in the summer.
