Events at Fairmount

There is a lot happening at Fairmount Presbyterian Church! Check this page frequently!

St. Paul's Episcopal, Fairmount Presbyterian, Plymouth United Church of Christ, St. Mark's Presbyterian, and Church of The Saviour United Methodist Church are thrilled to partner together to host Austin Channing Brown for a virtual conversation on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 4 p.m.

To deepen our experience of her visit, we will be coordinating small groups to discuss her book "I'm Still Here." There will be two sessions before Brown's visit, and one session after, all taking place in break-out rooms on Zoom. Break-out groups will each have 7-10 participants and two facilitators. We're encouraging participants to commit to one group for all three sessions so they can build relationships.

Below are the times and dates of our meetings.

Meeting Dates/Times:
Sundays, May 9, 16, 30 from 4-5 p.m.
Wednesdays, May 12, 19, 26 from 7-8 p.m.
Thursdays, May 13, 20, 27 from 10-11 a.m.

Fill out this form to sign up for one either the Sunday, Wednesday, or Thursday sessions.

Schumann Piano Quintet

Performed in the Fairmount Sanctuary

premiering Friday, March 26th at 6:30pm

The Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44, by Robert Schumann, was composed in 1842 and received its first public performance the following year. Noted for its "extroverted, exuberant" character, Schumann's piano quintet is considered one of his finest compositions and a major work of nineteenth-century chamber music. Composed for piano and string quartet, the work revolutionized the instrumentation and musical character of the piano quintet and established it as a “quintessentiallygenre”. Schumann dedicated the piano quintet to his wife, the great pianist Clara Schumann.
